FRAME Final Policy Conference on 18-19 February 2019 in London

How do macroeconomics and innovation policy interact? This question was discussed by international scholars and policy-makers at the FRAME Final Policy Conference in London on 18 and 19 February 2019. During the conference, the project participants presented the key results and discussed the related policy conclusions of the EU Horizon 2020 project FRAME (Framework for the Analysis of Research and Adoption Activities and their Macroeconomic Effects) with different end users of the project’s research results.

Beyond Horizon 2020: Translating Public Research into Innovation

The lunch debate in Brussels was an opportunity to diffuse some key results of FRAME by connecting them to the ongoing discussion about Horizon Europe. Horizon Europe represents the most ambitious Research and Innovation program ever launched by the European commission. However, its implementation raises numerous questions, especially about how can Europe can foster the diffusion of breakthrough inventions. This topic echoes one feature of the FRAME project. The lively discussion from the panel developed different answers and perspectives, reflecting the expertise of each panelist.

FRAME Mid-Term Policy Conference: Impact of R&D Policies on Innovation – Micro and Macro Evidence

To what extent does innovation impact economic growth? Can public research foster innovation through the diffusion of knowledge? And how can policymakers encourage sustainable innovation and growth? These are some of the questions discussed by researchers and politicians from across Europe attending the FRAME Mid-Term Conference held at ZEW on 19–20 March 2018. The FRAME Project is sponsored by the European Commission within the framework of the research and innovation programme Horizon 2020, Grant No. 727073.
